Kpando Heart of Lions beat Ebusua Dwarfs 2-1 in their week three Glo Premiership encounter at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah Stadium on Sunday.
Lions took the lead through midfielder Sherif Danladi in the 26th minute with Dwarfs hitting back ferociously and coming close to scoring in the 30th, 35th and 36th minutes but the strikers failed to utilise the chances that came their way.
Dwarfs continued to harass their opponents’ goal area and succeeded in earning a spot-kick when captain Bismark Asiedu was brought down in the penalty area, for Mustapha Douglas to score from the resultant kick in the 43rd minute for the first half to end even.
Back from recess, Lions took control of the game and it came as no surprise when Danladi, who played a yeoman’s game capitalised on a defensive blunder by the Dwarfs defence on the 57th minute to score the match winner.
Meanwhile, Dwarfs won the reserve (U-20) encounter 1-0.
