Ghanaian musician, Wanlov the Kubolor, has compared the state of Accra, with its plastic pollution and waste, to the 'dirty' rooms of government appointees.
He pointed out that Accra is among the most polluted cities in the world due to the high levels of plastic pollution and waste.
“I look around. I pass Agbobloshie and I go around different parts of Accra and at any point in time, any given day, Accra is among the top five most polluted cities in the world.”
Speaking on the AM show, he said the persons responsible for ensuring that Accra's streets are kept clean are focusing on parochial matters instead.
“The city is dirty with plastic and all these kind of filth and someone’s bedroom is ditty with money. The person who is supposed to help facilitate the cleaning of that city and all the filth there, they are just dirtying their room with cash. Different types of cashes.”
Wanlov the Kubolor and his sister, Deborah Vanessa, are staunch campaigners against plastic waste and pollution, and have often used their clout and platforms to advocate for more sustainable uses of plastic products to avoid further pollution.
