Contrary to reports that smooth singer Ofori Amponsah would be one of the toasts of the night at last Saturday's GO AFRICA CONCERT by MTN at the Independence Square in Accra, the contemporary highlife singer did not show up at the event.
From the beginning of the show till the end, MCs Bola Ray and Sammy B kept announcing that he would perform.
All the artistes billed for the concert came to perform, with the exception of Mr. Al14Real. He was nowhere to be found. No reason, however, was given for the absence of the man whose latest hit album "Odwo" is receiving massive airplay.
Members of his management team were also not seen at the event to give reasons. Fans who were at the show in their numbers tried to find out why their star failed to show up. To them, that was unusual about their star since he always honoured invitations to perform, especially when news about his performance went round in the media.
An investigation conducted by Beatwaves revealed that the artiste was ill on the said day. According to the head of his management team, Fadda Dickson, of Peace FM, the singer was not feeling well and that was the reason for his inability to turn up at the event.
