Wli waterfall, a 70-80 metres high beautiful scenic waterfall is the highest ever recorded in the history of West Africa.
It is located at the eastern corridor of Ghana in Hohoe, tropical forest of the Volta Region.
Wli hills mark the border between Ghana and Togo, and the people of Hohoe are loving and friendly.
The centre for herbal medicine, Hohoe, is significant both in Ghana and in the Western world.
The region is famous due to the reflection on its rich and diverse ceremonies and festivities like the popular annual Hobgetsotso festival celebrated by people of Anlo in the southern part of the region. It is also noted with its romantic traditional dance; ‘Agbadza and borboorbor.’
The chances of seeing large camps of some living creatures like butterflies, monkeys, bats, birds and ape on the way to Wli at the Agumatsa Wildlife sanctuary is even an enthralling experience.
Residents of the Volta Region, mainly Ewe’s, are made up of beautiful females and males, and their main occupations are farming and fishing.
Their favorite dishes include banku and fetri dertsi(banku and okro soup), akpa dertsi (tilapia soup), dzegble, borbi tadzie, dzomi tadzie, agbame dertsi, borlu, akpa kalami and abolo, and gboma nyanya special served with workple dzodzo.
