A woman has been arrested by Police in Mankessim for allegedly stealing a two-year-old girl.
The 50-year-old, known as Esi Beniwa reportedly kidnapped and concealed the victim in a plastic bucket in the Mfantseman municipality of the Central Region.
According to eyewitnesses, residents who realized the act cried for help.
Others then rushed to the scene and found the child with Esi after opening the bucket.
In an interview with the mother of the child, Janet Ampah, she said the suspect pretended to be the 2-year-old's parent and put her in the bucket when no one was looking.
The girl's father, Kofi Essel was surprised that such a thing could happen.
He urged parents to monitor their children to ensure their safety.
