Work is scheduled to begin on a new Cape Coast sports stadium by March next year.
The Cape Coast stadium is one of three stadia the government has planned to build in the Central Region.
The Central Regional Minister, Nana Ato Arthur, told Joy News’ Kojo Nyarko that a 32 acre land had been secured for the project.
The University of Cape Coast provided 18 acres of the land while remaining 14 acres have been sourced from private individuals.
He said compensation for the land owners was being prepared by Land Valuation Board.
It is expected that occupiers of the land will relocate by the end of February this year as their properties have been valued and government will be paying them compensation.
