The Youth Enterprise Support (YES) Secretariat has announced that it will start receiving business plans, ideas and proposals from young and prospective entrepreneurs on Monday September 01, 2014.
According to Coordinator for the YES Secretariat, Kojo Adu Asare, interested persons who meet the published Eligibility Criteria have between September 01, and October 10, 2014 to submit their business plans, or ideas for consideration.
YES, an initiative of President John Mahama, was launched on August 12, 2014 with a seed capital of GH¢10 million. The Youth Enterprise Support Initiative has been designed to help Ghana's young and innovative population turn great ideas into thriving business enterprises.
Mr.Adu Asare, said to qualify for the consideration of a business plan; “one must be a Ghanaian citizen and below the age of 35, completed at least Junior High School and submit a businessplan that shows the ability to create a minimum of five job opportunities within a certain time frame.”
“Your business proposition cannot include gambling, alcohol production or distribution, tobacco, narcotics or weapon distribution or production, and the business must be situated within the borders of Ghana”, Mr. Adu Asare stated.
He also noted that applicants must provide proof of their citizenship, educational qualification, and also two letters of recommendation or reference in support of their application. The application form will be available on the YES website for download.
Completed application forms and business plans can be sent to the YES Secretariat via email, applications@yes.gov.gh or filled and submitted online from our website, www.yes.gov.gh or delivered by post to YES Secretariat, P. O. Box 1627, Accra- Ghana, he added.
However, "applicants are also welcome to hand deliver their application to the YES Secretariat, Plot No 7, Research
Road, South Legon, Accra- Ghana".
