The young African Women Congress (YAWC) slated for July 4-6, 2016, has been postponed.
A statement signed by the Executive Director of the group says a new date for the conference will soon be announced.
Venue for the occasion and other ancillary activities however remain unchanged.
The full statement is as follows;
ExLA GROUP POSTPONES YOUNG AFRICAN WOMEN CONGRESS (YAWC) 2016
The management and staff of ExLA Group would like to officially notify all stakeholders, partners, media and the general public of the postponement of the Young African Women Congress (YAWC) 2016 which was slated for 4th-8th July, 2016 at the University of Ghana in Accra. The new date which would be later in the year, will be announced soon.
In view of the latest development however, registration is still on-going on the YAWC website www.yawcafrica.org, offering opportunity to other prospective delegates who could not register ahead of the previously publicised date. The venue for the event which is the University of Ghana in Accra remains unchanged as well as the registration packages for delegates for the congress.
We would by this release like to express our deepest apologies to all stakeholders for any inconvenience caused and also reaffirm our commitment to empowering women and girls in Africa. Thank you.
