Osita Oparaugo, the visionary behind GetBundi Education Technology and Doballi, has made a rallying call to 3,000 Ghanaian youth embarking on a transformative training programme in customer service and virtual administration.
At the onboarding ceremony, held in partnership with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Ghana, he set the tone with a compelling keynote titled “Beyond Skills: The Attitude Edge in Contact Centre Hiring.”
While acknowledging the power of digital and administrative skills, he stressed that attitude—not just aptitude—would define their success in the global marketplace.
“We can teach you what to do, but we can’t teach you how to behave,” he told the eager cohort. “The right attitude doesn’t just get you hired—it gets you promoted.”
He outlined six pillars of attitude essential for roles like customer service reps, virtual assistants, and call centre agents skills can be taught—attitude is ingrained, a positive attitude drives growth, attitude shapes customer experience, skills without accountability lead to failure, the right attitude boosts teamwork, and employers hire for attitude, train for skill.
His message was clear: "In a world where remote jobs are booming and talent is global, technical skills alone are no longer enough. What employers seek are team players who bring commitment, accountability, and a drive for excellence."
With GetBundi handling skills training and Doballi connecting participants to remote job opportunities, Mr Oparaugo urged them to take personal responsibility and cultivate a mindset of continuous improvement.
“Your skill gets you in the door. Your attitude keeps you there,” he said to resounding applause.
