Traditional authorities in Ziavi in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region have appealed to the government to speed up construction works on the Ziavi - Anfoeta road network.
The Ziavi Paramount Chief, Togbega Kwaku Ayim IV, who appealed underscored the economic significance of a better road network in the area, which serves as a food basket in the municipality.
He was speaking at the grand durbar of the 11th Aʋazɔli Festival at Ziavi-Dzogbe.
“We are happy construction works have resumed on the Ziavi-Anfoega road network. We are appealing to the government to ensure the contractor doesn’t abandon the project but should continue and complete it.

The access road from Ho - Ziavi Dzogbe is in a bad state. We want it reconstructed to join the Anfoeta road. This would make travelling from Ho to Anfoega comfortable” he said.

He also reiterated a call on the government to complete a two-storey GETfund project for the Ziavi Senior High Technical School, which had stalled, furnishing the information communication technology lab.
“The Getfund structure has been abandoned for unknown reasons, we want the contractor to come back to the site and complete it”, he said.
The Chief of Staff of Staff, Madam Frema Osei-Opare, underscored the significant role of the Agenda 111 programme in enhancing universal health coverage in Ghana.
She added that successful completion of the facilities scattered across the country would take the west African country closer to attaining Sustainable Development Goal 3.

She, however, promised to ensure the timely completion of the projects enumerated by Togbega Kwaku Ayim IV.
“I want to assure you of my sincerest commitment towards the successful completion of whatever we have started together in Ziavi.
Funds raised would be channelled towards constructing a staff quarter for the staff of Ziavi Health Centre, in preparation to upgrade the facility to a Polyclinic status.
There was a sheer display of culture and tradition at the durbar which was attended by all 7 traditional areas belonging to the Awazorli Union.
