The first Taysec Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, October 10.
Mr Kwabena Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Thursday, said the competition which used to be known and called Taywood Bowl is now to be called Taysec Cup, following the change of ownership of the company.
He said about 120 amateur golfers and guests of the company are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Bogey event.
Mr Oteng-Aboagye said management of the Club had put in place adequate preparations to ensure that a keen competition is ensured for the participants and guests as well as followers of the sport.
He said some of the golfers expected to participate in the competition include Mike Aggrey, Captain of the Club, Wisdom Asempah, Yaw Assah-Sam, Matthias Dorfe, Charles Tabi, Paul List and Daniel List.
The Ladies section would also be represented by veteran Mona Myles-Lamptey, Clara Price, Francisca Vandyck, Ama Morgan and Margaret Ben-George, all of the Achimota Golf Club.
Kweku Okyere would also lead the Tema Country Golf Club team which would include Felix Owusu-Adjapong, Larry Chinibuah, Alex Fiagomey, Paul Owusu-Baah and E. T. Mensah.
Mr Geoff Fisher, Chairman and Managing Director of Taysec Construction Limited who would lead his team include Anthony Morgan and Bob Evans.
He said the company would continue to support the promotion and the development of sports in the country.
Mr Fisher would present the magnificent trophies to the winners at the end of the competition.
Officials of Taysec including Mr A. Y. Abebrese, Financial Director, would grace the occasion.
