The 2024 edition of the West African Inter-Recruit Tennis tournament has officially commenced at the Accra Sports Stadium tennis court.
The second edition is set to take place from January 8 to January 12 this year. Ghana, Benin and Togo are the three participating countries aiming to win the ultimate prize.

Winner of the tournament will walk home with an amount of $300 and a college scholarship to school abroad, second place gets $200 while the third place takes away a cash prize of $150.
Director of the tournament, Gabriel Amoako spoke on the importance of the tournament to JoySports.
‘’It’s not about winning the tournament, it’s about participating in the tournament. Then Sadia Mayo (The CEO) will pave the way for you to get opportunities to speak with coaches in the USA and get admission into colleges. Last year what we gave the winner was SAT money for the player to register for SAT."

He also added that, Ghana was the best place to host the tennis event.
“Sadia chose Ghana because we have good conducive environment to host tournaments. Ghana is a place where you can easily go out any day any time compared to other countries. We are friendly, we are open to most nationals.”
