A total of 23 individuals and companies have been honoured at the fourth edition of the Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-GH) Corporate Excellence Awards held at the Kempiski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra.
The awards ceremony was aimed at rewarding individuals and corporate organisations that have distinguished themselves over the year under review.
The ceremony which was preceded by a week-long activity brought together directors and members of the institute to build their capacity, network and share ideas on how to promote directorship and professionalism in their various spheres of influence.

Themed "Good corporate governance and ethical leadership: An essential requirement for organizational turnaround," this year's awards ceremony saw the ultimate awards going to Dr John Kofi Mensah who emerged the Innovative Director, and Nhyiraba Yaw Sompa Okyere who was adjudged the Up and Coming Director of the Year.
The Special Recognition Awards were given to the Bank of Ghana, the Security and Exchange Commission, the State Interests and Governance Authority and Zoomlion Limited.
The Governor of Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison together with his two deputies as well as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Dr Janet Ampadu Fofie were recognised in the individual category.
For the competitive awards category, Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana, emerged as the Best Life Insurer for good corporate governance with B5 Plus Limited being adjudged the best under Fabricated Metal Industry category with the Zenith Bank taking the Best in Universal Banking whiles the Multimedia Group Limited was awarded a Special Recognition for their good work in the media terrain.
Speaking at the awards, the President of IOD-GH, Mr Rockson Dogbegah called on stakeholders to rally support behind the passage of the Directors Bill into law.
He said the Bill which was currently with the Ministry of Education for consideration, when passed, would ensure ethical standards for good corporate practice which would inure to organisational growth and development.
The week-long celebration discussed issues around corporate governance and leadership in promoting the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda while focusing on strategic capacity development sessions that would equip directors with tools to manage turnarounds with the potential to help rebuild post COVID-19 pandemic and explore opportunities for members to examine their governance structures and assess their degree of preparedness to dealing with recovery and corporate turnarounds.
