The 35th National Farmers’ Day celebration is currently ongoing at the Ho Jubilee Park in the Volta Region.
The celebration will witness the presentation of awards to farmers across the country who have distinguished themselves in their line of work.

The annual event has in attendance, President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, the Regional Minister Archibald Yao Letsa, the Minister for Food and Agriculture Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, among other government appointees and dignitaries.

Joy News’ Ivy Setordzi who is present at the venue reports that some traditional rulers in the region including the Awormefia of Anlo State, Torgbui Sri III, who is serving as the chairperson for the occasion are already seated.

According to her a massive crowd have also gathered at the Jubilee Park to witness the celebration.

While the national event is ongoing in the Volta Region, various regions and districts will also be holding separate events to award farmers in those localities.

This year’s event is under the theme ‘Enhancing Small Scale Agriculture Towards Agribusiness Development’.
