A number of activities have been put together for the 9th edition of the Ghana Dance Festival which takes place in Accra from November 23, 2023 to November 26, 2023.
The event starts with a grand opening at the Gold Coast Restaurant on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at 7pm.
On Friday, November 24, 2023, there will be Afrolatin, an all white dance party at the rooftop of the Mensvic Hotel at East Legon in Accra. This will be followed by a hangout at the Dam Club, also at East Legon.
The climax of the 9th Ghana Dance Festival is on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the World Trade Centre. There will be a workshop, seminar, battles, performances and other social engagements.
According to the Founder of the Ghana Dance Festival and Awards, Robert Klah, there will be officials from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to educate the dancers on retirement policies.
"We will have a session with SSNIT. They are going to engage dancers on how they can secure their pension. If you are not part of the formal sector it is difficult for your SSNIT to be paid. It doesn't happen automatically.
So you have artistes not being able to access that facility at a particular age because they didn't make contributions. We are finding a way to address it before we get to that particular age," he noted.
The programme will end with a pool party at Jam Rock on Sunday, November 26, 2023.
The Ghana Dance Festival is founded by Robert Klah, proudly brought to you in association with Dancers and DanceSport Association of Ghana (DDASPAG) and Dancetera, Your Dance Channel.
