The Sakumuno Police have launched a manhunt for two persons who allegedly raped two female nursing students at gunpoint after robbing them of their valuables at Lashibi, Community 18 near Tema.
The two suspects, George Prah Peprah and Moro lssifu, allegedly lured the students into a guest house where they pointed guns at them and commanded the students to fondle each other whiet they recorded the episode before forcibly having sex with them.
The recording is said to have been uploaded on the internet, portraying the students as lesbians.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Reuben Dugah, Sakumono District Police Crime Officer, noted that on November 29 2012, the two students, whose names he withheld, met one of the suspects through a telephone conversation and agreed to meet him at Community 18, Lashibi, to collect some items that the mother was allegedly sending her through the suspect.
The next day, he reported, the invitee asked her colleague to accompany her to meet the suspect, which she did. When they met the suspect at the agreed upon location, DSP Dugah explained, they saw that he had come with another person.
He said the suspects lured the female students into a guesthouse where they had a lengthy conversation until midnight, at which point the ladies requested to leave but instead humoured the suspects’ request that they go into one of the rooms to collect the items they had come for.
As soon as they reached the room, the suspects pulled out pistols and commanded the victims to undress and fondle each other.
He stated that the suspects robbed the victims of their Samsung Galaxy S and Nokia mobile phones and used these to take naked pictures of them while the ladies fondled each other under duress.
After sometime, the suspects separated their victims and while one of the suspects took one victim to the washroom and the other kept his victim on the bed of the room. At this point, the men raped the victims.
DSP Dugah explained that the women’s Cal Bank Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards were also taken from them. At around 2am, when the suspects had satisfied themselves, they kicked the victims out of the room. The suspects left the hotel at around 5am without paying their bills.
On December 3, 2012, the case was reported to the Sakumono Police Station and has since been under investigation. Police investigations revealed the names of the suspects, which were originally unknown to the victims. A photograph of one of the suspects has also been found.
Investigations also showed that the suspects circulated the naked pictures of the victims fondling each other on the internet, describing them as lesbians among other things.
The Sakumono Police are calling on the public to assist them, offering a special reward for information leadinf to the arrest of the suspects. The police have provided these numbers 0244815688/0244920117 for anyone interested in confidentially providing information.
