Alex Konadu is said to have chased the woman, Florence Opokuaa, 33, to a farm where he hit her several times with a club as she fell to the ground unconscious.
Taking her for dead, he fled the scene.
She was discovered by farmers and subsequently hospitalized for three days.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ernest Fosu, the Nyinahin Police Commander, confirmed to the Ghana News Agency that the incident occurred at around 1130 hours on February 3.
He vowed to do everything in his power to arrest the fugitive assembly member and bring him to justice.
