Several Ghanaian celebrities took time off Saturday to troop to the Aphrodisiac Nite Club in Accra to support Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie as he outdoored his fashion line.
The rapper, who has already etched his name on the local and international music scenes, is following the footsteps of Kanye West, P Diddy, and Jay Z who successfully own world renowned clothing lines.
Sarkodie’s collection is called Sark and they are uniquely designed by bubbly designer Yas. The first phase of Sark by Yas clothing line which was outdoored Saturday saw men hit the runway to display some impressive designs.
The star-studded show attended by celebrities, including Confidence Haugen, Ama K Abebrese, D-Black, Stephen Appiah, Efya, Prince David Osei, Sandra Ankobeah,as well as Sarkodie's mum and family, witnessed the display of designs ranging from jeans, shirts, sneakers, caps, belts to sports wears for men.
Sarkodie told Myjoyonline.com after the launch, “Big ups to the two people, the brains who actually gave me the vim to take this journey, Yasmine and Lee. We came together as partners and we made this happen.”
He noted that what inspired the fashion line was that, “I am very choosy, I am picky. I did this because of one good reason because I knew it was that time, I felt that within me. I know I am ready this thing is going to go far. I believe in it and my fans are supporting as well.”
The Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner stressed that his products are of the highest quality. “We didn’t do any second or third grade production, this is first class. This is originally Sark. It is not that costly.”
