Peak Lyceum School were the big winners in the final leg as the maiden Joy FM Kids Olympics came to a close at the Ghana International School on Saturday after three weeks of thrill, excitement and intense competition. 

The final day offered kids the opportunity to win medals in swimming tennis and basketball. The competition which at the Lincoln Community School two weeks ago also saw kids win medals in athletics, football, taekwondo and table tennis. 

It was a clean sweep for Tema-based Peak Lyceum in the pool as pupils won multiple medals in the various swimming events such as Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke and Freestyle. With the headteacher and other members of staff cheering on, the pupils from Peak Lyceum were so dominant as the claimed a total of 47 medals. 

For the girls, Nana Ama Ansah and Phoebe Osekua Stevens won four medals each in the 11-12 years category. Followed by Princess NhyiraAddinorkie Addie who dominated the 9-10 years category with three medals. Adjoa Akowa also clinched two medals in the 7-8 years. 

In the boys division, Mawuyram Adjaho won four medals in the 5-6 years. Kofi Adjaho and Nana Kwaw Ansah claimed four medals each in the 7-8 years. The 11-12 years category was won by Gerard Ayibontey Noah. 

However, Senyo Dzotsi of British International School was the star of the 9-10 years medals in all four events.

In tennis, Jefta Dowuna of Delali Nursery School, Michael Tagoe of Tiny Flowers Academy and Kwabena Adom Enyan of University Primary School won medals at 6, 9 and 10 years categories respectively. 

For the girls, Florence Lamptey, Judith Abbey and Naa Amerley emerge winners in the 6,9 and 10 years categories respectively. 

The basketball saw two teams with the Green team made up of Prince Stephen Decker Lord and Selasi winning the gold medal. 

All participants received certificates while winners for the various sporting disciplines.
