Staunch Asante Kotoko supporter Seidu has alleged that head coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor nearly resigned prior to Sunday’s Caf Confederation Cup group game against Nkana FC at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Reports were rife in Kumasi that management had imposed some players on the coach to name in his starting line-up for the must-win match.
The Porcupine Warriors won the game 3-0 thanks to a stunning first-half performance.
According to the supporter, management should manage the affairs of the team and not try to impose their decisions on the coach in the area of player selection.

"I am happy Kotoko won but have to say that the management of the club should stop dictating for CK Akonnor. Akonnor nearly resigned on Saturday ahead of the game. It took the intervention of General Manager of the club George Amoako for him to rescind his decision,” Seidu told Asempa FM.
Kotoko play their next game against Al Hilal of Sudan in Kumasi on Sunday 10 March 2019.
The Porcupine Warriors lie second on the table with six points, a point behind leaders Hilal.
