Ghana will for the second time participate in the Federation International Swimming Association (FINA), 15th World Swimming Championship in Barcelona, Spain.
The championship, fixed for July 18 to August 4, will be used by the Association to strengthen its relationship with the international body, as well as provide members of the national swimming team an opportunity to rub shoulders with their international colleagues.
A three-member swimming team, made up of Kwaku Addo, current national record holder of 25.96 seconds, will compete in the 50 meter Freestyle with Ophelia Swayne competing in the 50 meter Free style and 50 meter Butterfly, whilst Paa Kwasi Jackson will also compete in the 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly.
The delegation will be led by Theophilus Wilson Edzie and Williams Nana Kyei, President and General Secretary of GSA respectively.
Other members of the delegation include Helena Williams and Kwami Kpodoh, FINA certified referees, who will use the opportunity to attend FINA Technical Congress on July 24.
