New Edubiase United striker Abdul Adam Basit has signed a three-year deal with South African side Free State Stars, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.
The 18-year-old penned the contract on Wednesday and has been handed the number 19 jersey.
He has since joined Ea Lla Koto’s pre-season training in Klerksdorp.
“Basit has come to a club capable of shaping his dream as a top footballer,” Edubiase vice-chairman Alex Ackumey told MTNFootball.com
“The league is strong so it will help him to develop as one of the best strikers.”
Basit was spotted by Free State Stars officials last June while playing for Ghana’s U20 team in the an invitational tournament.
He played for Edubiase in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup qualifier where the Bekwai-based side were eliminated after the first round.
He becomes the second Ghanaian player to sign for the club during the transfer window after goalkeeper Daniel Agyei inked a three-year deal on Monday.
