Ghana U-20 midfielder Clifford Aboagye was named the third best player of the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The 18-year-old was handed the Bronze Ball award for his eye-catching exploits throughout the tournament hosted by Turkey.
Aboagye who plays for newly promoted Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies was named behind Uruguay’s Nicolas Lopez and Paul Pogba in the rankings of best players in 2nd and 1st respectively.
Pogba was handed the Golden Ball while Lopez clinched the Silver Ball award.
Aboagye shot to worldwide fame for his deft touches, skills on the ball and immense vision with his passes at the tournament.
His contribution in providing vital assists helped Ghana recover from a disastrous start to the tournament to finish strongly in third place.
The youngster is now being talked of as one of the brightest prospects to watch out for in the future.
But he must make the right decisions with respect to the club he chooses to join with an expectation of a plethora of interest from top European clubs for his services in order to realize his vast potential.
