Residents of Dawhenya in Accra resorted to civil disobedience on Friday morning, to get good road network in their community.
Scores of the residents on the Dawhenya-Afienya link burnt car tyres and blocked the roads as part of a protest to force the government to heed their cry of better roads.

The protestors say the dust on the bad roads is causing them health complications.
“The bad road is also collapsing our business because motorists don’t use the road,” one of the protestors lamented.
They are calling on the government to respond to their call in 14 days or they “would meet again and advise” themselves.
“This one is just the beginning and meant to send a message,” a leading member of the protesting youth noted.

CitiNews reports that Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has solidarised with the youth of the area, blaming the government for the bad road network in his constituency.
“He further threatened to join his constituents to demonstrate again if their concerns are not addressed,” the news outlet reported.
