The 1998 year group of Mawuli School has handed over a 30,000 liters solar-powered borehole project to their alma mater.
The Solar Powered Borehole is aimed at giving uninterrupted water supply to the Ho-based school “especially during water crises” which normally affects schools in the Ho Municipality.
According to the president of the 1998 year group, Eric Senyo Arku, they took the initiative when students and teachers complained about high cost of electricity as a result of pumping water from the borehole as well as payment of the water bills.
“They need to pump from the borehole to the tank and from the tank for them to get access to the water which was a problem so we decided to help with the solar-powered borehole,” he said

The project which cost GHS40, 000 is to enable the school to have a free flow of water all year round with support from Grunfos Pumps Ghana Limited.
The Headmaster of Mawuli School, Rev Samuel Senaku Asieni commended the group for their kind gesture.
