Drivers of the Metro Mass Transport (MMT) say the sad incident of their colleague Francis Ankoma who was shot dead by gunmen in a highway robbery attack has left them in fear.Armed robbers mounted a road block, intercepted the Kumasi bound bus at about 7.30 a.m. at Asikasu, near Akrokerri Junction, killed the driver and robbed passengers.Drivers of the public transporter say their colleague’s death has left them in fear. They told Luv FM during a visit to the main yard at Aprepo Junction, this is the third of similar robbery attacks on MMT bus.A driver said “we are living in fear. This is not the first time. One of our colleagues is at home now. He cannot walk because an armed robber attacked his bus and shot his leg”.The unhappy drivers want their management to put measures in place to prevent a recurrence. One of the measures they suggested was that management must get a police personnel on traveling buses to protect drivers and passengers.
