Police are investigating a 41-vehicle pileup in Virginia that injured at least 10 people.
The state's Department of Transportation says in a news release that the pileup occurred around 5 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 81 in the Lexington area of Rockbridge County. Six tractor-trailers were involved in the pileup.
The multivehicle wreck shut down the southbound lanes for about six hours, causing a five-mile backup.
Rockbridge County Emergency Management coordinator Robert Foresman tells media outlets that two tractor-trailers and a camper overturned.
The cause of the pileup remains under investigation.
