The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) has dismissed claims that it is contemplating closing down due to government's delay in releasing subvention to the Commission.Professor Benjamin Botwe Nyarko, Director-General of GAEC described the report in sections of the media as "a false alarm".The reports suggest the Commission has not received its subvention from government for the whole year, making it unable to implement all of its projects because of financial constraints.Speaking to Joy News however, Prof. Nyarko admitted to the fact that the Commission is facing financial challenges but stated that the delay is not peculiar to GAEC alone, adding, that cannot lead to closure of the facility."There is no way that we can close down Atomic Energy Commission; that's a false alarm," the GAEC Boss emphasised.
