The Criminal and Investigations Department of the Police Service has arrested one of their own, for engaging in armed robbery.Lance Corporal, Benjamin Tekutey of Kakito Police Station under the Ashaiman Division, managed to dress his friend in a police uniform on 4th August at 10pm and both attacked Chinese national, Xiangmen and his two friends at gunpoint around the Tetteh-Quarshie interchange.Corp. Tekutey and his accomplice managed to rob the victims of their Nissan pickup vehicle with registration number CD 2665 X, five hundred cedis and two mobile phones.Corp. Tekutey joined the Police in 2007.COP Prosper Agblor, Head of Criminal and Investigations Department of the Police Service berated the arrested officer for using his skills to harm society when it is meant to benefit it.He cautioned police officers to desist from such acts or face the full rigours of the law.Meanwhile, 108 officers have been dismissed from the Service between last year to June this year, for various infractions.The management of the Serivce has also reduced the ranks of a 132 officers and 433 men and women are facing service enquiry.
