This was during a shoot-out where a pump action gun and cutlasses were retrieved from the suspected robbers in the incident.
Joy News' Northern regional correspondent Hashmin Mohammed reported that the two robbers suspected to be Fulani "were said to be part of a group of three allegedly blocked," the road at about 2pm to carry out their operation.
According to the Northern regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh who spoke to Joy News, "with the help of the community, two of the robbers were gunned down."
"One person believed to be part of the group of three however escaped into the bush and the police is pursuing [him]," Ebenezer Tetteh added. "We are appealing to villagers in and out of the Busunu area to be on the lookout for persons with gunshot wounds who may come for treatment."
