A middle-aged woman was rushed to Ejisu Government Hospital after she reportedly suffered cutlass wounds from a teenager who allegedly attempted to rape her in the bush.
Though details are very sketchy, reports suggest that the culprit is on the run.
Luv News' Erastus Asare Donkor who has been following the incident said the woman is currently battling for her life at the hospital.
Forty-eight year old Mamunata Ahmedu is an orange seller. Her attacker is a 17 year old porter who usually get contracted by the woman to carry her oranges from the bush.
The victim had gone to Abankro near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region with the teenager when the unfortunate incident occurred.
"In the ensuing struggle, he slashed the woman in the leg, on the forehead and slashed her in the stomach as well," Erastus recounted.
In pain, the woman was said to have crawled from the bush to the nearby road where she was supported by a good Samaritan and conveyed her to hospital.
She was being given blood transfusion after bleeding a lot from her wounds.
The case has been reported to the Police in Ejisu. Police and residents have mounted a manhunt for the boy.
