When, Okailey Verse, popularly known as OV, walked away with the ultimate cash prize at the 2018 MTN Hitmaker, many of her fans expected her to take the music world by storm, immediately.
However, months after her win, the young talent was nowhere to be found.
Hence, when the news of her signing unto Burniton Music, a record label owned by dancehall sensation Stonebwoy, it gave hope to fans who felt the talent of the young girl was wasting away.
Signing onto the label may have been a good thing, because, OV has joined the Bhim Nation family, to take the Afrobeat genre to a different level.
Her labelmate, Kelvyn Boy on June 21, released his predominantly Afrobeat album giving Ghanaians a new look into the genre with songs like ‘Mea’ featuring Joey B and Nana Ama featuring Suzz Blaq.
Following suit, OV has dropped her second single and possibly her hottest track for the summer, ‘Zaddy’.
First off, "Zaddy" is a guy who is attractive and fashionable, with swag and sex appeal. Hot huh!
That’s one of the reasons it is perfect for this hot summer.
The lyrics are delivered alongside a mid-tempo afrobeat laced with a distinct xylophone tune, that can get one busting out dance moves from beginning to end, leaving them with the urge for more.
“Hold my hand make we jolly go… Zaddy be the one I want to kill it for… The way you laugh, the way you smile... I look into your eyes, ebe you I get the thing for,” are some of the words crafted for this beautiful song.
‘Zaddy’ is more than just a heated summer song, it is also a wonderful love song that can get couple waiting, grooving all day all night.
‘Zaddy’ featuring Kelvyn Boy is definitely a song you would want on your playlist.
