Mobile phone technology giant, Samsung has launched the latest update to the Samsung Galaxy Note product line, the Galaxy Note 3 and Gear.
The launch in Ghana follows an earlier one held in Cape Town, South Africa to formally introduce the mobile device and its revolutionary gear to Africa.
Impressive specifications
The new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a wider (5.7inch) full HD Super AMOLED display, yet slimmer (8.3mm) and lighter (168g) hardware design, and more powerful and longer lasting (3,200mAh) battery.
Also, it is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with Smart Stabilization and high CRI LED flash. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 enables users to crisply capture every visual story in their lives, even in low light and active situations.
It has the latest LTE technologies – CAT4 Carrier Aggregation and supports the greatest number of multiple frequencies.
Incorporating the industry’s largest 3GB RAM, the Galaxy Note 3 also provides faster and more powerful performance.
Revolutionary Gear
The Galaxy Gear, an accessory and a perfect companion to the Note 3 when connected allows a truly smart and free lifestyle relieving the need to constantly check the Smartphone.
The Galaxy Gear (Smartwatch) features a 1.63-inch (4.14 cm) OLED display. It is capable of making calls, capturing photos and videos as well as showing notifications like messages, social media updates, and health data etc; it also has a 1.9-megapixel camera.
Smart Ecosystem
The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a Samsung Premium or Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) will give users of the device an opportunity to get a new device should it be damaged.
ADH, which is a 24-month warranty for the Note 3, comes in three folds namely, Samsung Smart Swap, Smart Pick-Up, and Smart Value.
The ADH forms part of the Smart Ecosystem introduced by the company. The Smart Ecosystem is devided into several categories including, Micro Financing, Lifestyle Apps, Connectivity, Entertainment, and Worry Free Life.
Jaspreet Singh, Business Leader for Handheld Products at Samsung Ghana explained in an interview with Myjoyonline.com that, the company is giving Ghanaians "a product which is the state-of-the-art a then you get the smart Ecosystem that we have developed specially for Ghanaian consumers. We have partnerships with Busy Internet and DStv."
According to him, in Samsung's bid to make the device affordable, the company has "extended [their] partnership from Standard Charted Bank to Ecobank and SIC Life. We are talking to a couple of other banks also as and when it matures we will bring it to the light," so customers can buy the device with flexible payment plans.
