Contractors have finally extended roadworks directly to the front of the Lekma hospital.
Joy News’ Malik Daabu reported Thursday that a 15 inch stone base has been laid on one part of the dual-carriage road.
The development has sparked sporadic Joy among users of the hospital who have had to endure the dusty and bumpy road in their quest to access healthcare.
“If they will continue the work they have started, it will be great. My wife delivered here and we really struggled with the dust,” William Tetter, a resident said.
Earlier Joy News reported that work is continuing on the dusty 7.5km Lekma stretch of the Ledzokuku-Krowor constituency as Joy News’ campaign to get it fixed gathers momentum.
Joy News’ Malik Daabu visited the community last week Thursday morning to observe the progress of work and reported from the Mariville Homes where 1km of the stretch is being worked on.
He told Daniel Dadzie, host of the Super Morning Show that construction equipment were on site working to finish the road as the Roads Minister has promised.
Residents told the reporter although they are happy they cannot wait for the work to finish.
“They should speed up the work,” one resident said.
