Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah has received the backing of Ghana FA president Kwasi Nyantakyi to take the Black Stars to higher heights.
There are rumours locally linking German Klaus Topmoller to a Black Stars technical director role should the team qualify to next year’s 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Topmoller has in recent times coached Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen and Hamburg but has been without a job since leaving his post as Georgia national team coach in 2008.
Nyantakyi believes Kwesi Appiah has helped transform the Black Stars since his appointment last March.
"The first thing the FA did was to declare its unflinching support for Kwasi Appiah which helped in boosting his confidence," he told Joy sports.
"We also arranged some opportunities for him to train, to undergo practical training with Manchester City and he has also visited quite a number of clubs and watched their training sessions and that has built his confidence up to this level.
"It is incredible that in our recent football history no coach has scored more goals as Kwasi Appiah - 7-0 against Lesotho, 6-1 against Egypt, 4-0 against Sudan - that shows the fluidity of play, dynamism and attacking mindedness of the team and all is to the credit of the technical team headed by Kwasi Appiah.
"We will continue to support him and we believe that if Kwasi Appiah gets more support he will perform wonders and make Ghanaians happier."
