Goalkeeper Felix Annan has been named as the new captain of Asante Kotoko following Amos Frimpong’s departure from the club.
The Ghana international has been the official vice-captain since 2017, but will now lead the Porcupine Warriors out on a permanent basis.
“It’s an honour for me to be named as captain of this great club," he said.
"I accept it wholeheartedly and promise to give my best, be a good example to the players and also continue to put the club first in everything I do both on and off the field.”
The 24-year-old was the only local player in the Black Stars squad for this year's Africa Cup of Nations.
Augustine Sefa takes over as vice-captain while Emmanuel Gyamfi has joined the three-man leadership team.
The Porcupine Warriors have landed in Accra to start preparations for CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round clash against Kano Pillars this weekend.
Kotoko will then host their opponents two weeks later in Ghana.
