A circuit court in Tarkwa in the Western region has remanded a 47 year old illegal gold miner into police custody, for defiling two kindergarten girls, aged six and eight in Nuseam in the Western Region.
The accused, Kojo Poku is to re-appear again on November 1st.
According to a GNA report, prosecutor Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court the accused, Kojo Poku, otherwise called Faabu is a resident at Nsueam.
She said on September 9 at about 1pm, the kindergarten girls were playing at the premises of one of the victim’s grandmother’s bar when Kojo Poku called one of them.
The innocent girls followed the accused to his house, where he led them into his room and raped them.
Chief Inspector Tawiah told the court one of the victims reported the incident and the accused was subsequently arrested and handed over to the police.
