The Agogo Worldwide Association (AWA), on August 24, 2019, successfully organised a Fundraising Dinner Dance at Bronx, New York.
The event was aimed at raising funds to promote social and economic infrastructural development and to improve the quality of life for the people of Agogo.
The president of AWA, Emmanuel Kofi Adu-Boahen, who is a Pharmacist by profession, reminded the participants of the self-reliance and the resilience of the people of Agogo and how much Agogo citizens love their town.

According to him, the good thinking and good hospitality of an Agogo Chief to a Missionary called Ramsyer, got the town the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital, Agogo Nurses Training School, The Teacher Training College and the Agogo Girls Boarding School.
Others he mentioned include the Collins Secondary Commercial School which was established by Mr Collins Asabre, a private citizen of Agogo as well as the Agogo State Senior High School established by Nana Kwakye Tutu from money saved by the farmers of Agogo.

Mr Emmanuel Kofi Adu-Boahen thanked all the participants of the event and especially those who donated generously towards the fundraising.
 Present at the event was the Queen Mother of Agogo, Nana Afrakomah Serwaa Kusi Oboadum, the MP for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah Kubi, who updated the participants on the policies and developments in the District in general and Agogo in particular.
Also present was former MP, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, as well as representatives from all the Chapters of Agogo Associations, and other business leaders from Agogo.
