Ghana has been drawn in what pundits say is the 'Group of death' with Germany, United States of America and Portugal for the 2014 World Cup finals to be staged in Brazil.
The Black Stars will play their opening group game against the United States of America. It will be the third time in succession, Ghana will be meeting the USA in all three world cup appearances since 2006.
Ghana beat USA 2-1 in 2006 and 2010 tournaments in Germany and South Africa respectively.
Ghana's second game will also be against Germany whom the Black Stars lost to by a goal to nil in their second game at the 2010 world cup in South Africa. Coincidentally, the Black Stars will play their second group match again against the Germans.
The Black Stars will however play their last group game with Portugal, captained by Christiano Ronaldo.
Spain, the Netherlands, Chile and Australia will make up the other ‘group of death’, while Uruguay, Italy, England and Costa Rica will comprise another intriguing pool.
The Final Draw took place at the luxurious Costa do Sauípe in Salvador. It was conducted by FIFA Secretary General Jérôme Valcke, assisted by Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Alcides Ghiggia, Fernando Hierro, Sir Geoff Hurst, Mario Kempes, Lothar Matthaus and Zinedine Zidane, who were representing the eight World Cup winners.
Brazil and Croatia will participate in the opening match at the Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo on 12 June 2014. Germany, meanwhile, will become the first team to reach 100 World Cup matches when they face Portugal five days later.
The Final will unfold at the cathedral of Brazilian football, the iconic Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, on 13 July.
