Atletico Madrid midfielder Raúl García has responded to Sulley Muntari's claim that Atletico Madrid is the weakest team amongst all the cubs left in the UEFA Champions League.
The Ghanaian midfielder stated on Milan news Channel before the draw that, “Atletico Madrid are the weakest team on paper looking at the history of all the first placed teams. But I would prefer to face Manchester United.”
But García has responded to Muntari after learning that Atlético will face Milan in the Champions League round of 16.
"He will be happy because this is what he wanted. Now he has to earn a place in the next round. May the best team win, which is what has to happen," he said.
"Milan is one of those legendary teams that everyone loves to face. We've earned everyone's respect," he added. "We'll head to Milan to do a good job and come back with a positive result, knowing that we have a second match at home. We're a tough team to face over two legs. We've proven that we're good at that and I'm sure we'll give them a tough time," he remarked."
Sulley Muntari and his AC Milan team will lock horns against Atletico Madrid in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League after the draw was held in Nyon, Switzerland, Monday.
