Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency has charged the youth in the party to continue preaching the “good works” of Akufo-Addo government ahead of next year’s elections.
Ursula Owusu-Ekuful maintained that the governing New Patriotic Parties resolved to retain power depends heavily on the work of the youth especially at the grassroots level.
The legislator who is also the Communications Minister made the call at the Ablekuma West constituency youth wing conference on the theme: Sustaining Power 2020: the role of the youth.
She said the Akufo-Addo administration has fulfilled 80 per cent of its campaign promises adding the NPP is the only political party that can lead the development agenda of Ghana.
The only way to accelerate Ghana’s development, the Ablekuma West MP stated is for the party to win the 2020 general elections with the youth playing a key role.
Mrs. Owusu Ekuful said the government is working hard to create employment opportunities for the youth.
She also cautioned the youth against an act that will endanger the chances of the party in 2020.
For his part, the National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye said the youth has an important role to play by actively supporting activities of the government to make it succeed.
Without mincing words, he stressed that, that the party was counting heavily on the youth to retain power.
The NPP youth leader noted that government is committed to youth development since they are the future generation.
Nana Boakye urged the youth to embark on a house-to-house campaign and disseminate the massive achievements of President Akufo-Addo.
