A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Council of Elders, George Ayisi Boateng is asking Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kennedy Agyapong to tone down on his utterances against the party leadership.
Mr. Agyapong recently accused the party leadership of hoarding motorbikes he donated for the 2012 campaign for their personal campaigns for leadership positions in the party.
His allegation was condemned within sections of the party and was invited to appear before the disciplinary committee of the party.
Even before the committee will take a decision, Mr Agyapong got himself into another controversy, this time, threatening to quit the party and form his own.
He told Asempa FM that he would breakaway and form his own party if the current chairman of the NPP, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and other national executives retain their positions in the upcoming national executive election of the party.
He said he is allocating an amount of 20 million dollars for this new enterprise, should the executived retain their position.
But speaking on Joy News, George Ayisi Boateng, a member of the Council of Elders of the party, said there is no point trading words on radio.
He advised the tough-talking MP to use the party's communication channels address his grievances.
He said the accusations and counter accusations "disturb the party people", charging all involved to "cease fire."
