The local Black Stars of Ghana have qualified for the finals of the ongoing CHAN tournament after posting a 4-1 penalty victory over rivals Nigeria.
A superb Stephen Adams performance meant a ten man Black Stars will keep a clean sheet against a free scoring Nigeria side after 120 minutes of gruelling encounter.
And when two Nigerian players fluffed their penalty kicks, Asiedu Attobrah stepped up with a kick of glory, one that sent the Stars to the final against Libya on Sunday.
It was christened to be the match of the tournament given the pedigree of the two West African giants but it was the Nigerians who dominated play for most part.
And when Kwabena Adusei was red-carded for a second bookable offence in the 63rd minute it was the Super Eagles that looked like booking the finals of the tournament.
But a resolute Stars defence and an impregnable goal keeping performance by Stephen Adams kept the Nigerian attack at bay.
Seidu Bancey should have gotten the Stars in front after just two minutes but his half volley whisked just wide. The Nigerians took over and dominated play but were unlucky to have scored.
In the 26th minute Abubakar advertised a 30 yard shot which beat Adams but the goal post came to the rescue of Ghana.
Adams however saved the Black Stars on the stroke of full time with a brilliant save from a header pushing the game to a penalty shoot-out.
He went ahead to save two other penalty kicks with the Black Stars converting all their kicks.
The Black Stars will now play Group C contenders Libya who also beat Zimbabwe in the semi-finals through another thrilling penalty kicks.
