Former Deputy Finance Minister Ato Forson has urged the Communication Minister, Ursula Owusu, to learn to be civil in her speech as a public servant.
This was after the Minister in a strongly-worded letter dismissed his concerns about the minister’s directives to telcos on the implementation of a 9% Communication Service Tax.
The minister said she “would not take moral lessons from a brothel”.
Read his response on the issue below:
The former deputy Finance minister and NDC MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam Constituency in the Central Region in a reply quoted Colossians 4:6, NIV;
"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Ato Forson maintained his position in his earlier letter that it is wrong for the minister to be giving directives to telcos on how to collect the tax.
He quoted portions of the Revenue Administration Act which he said empowers the Ghana Revenue Authority to do that job.
