Former Asante Kotoko coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor has bemoaned the club’s current form after they were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors were booted out of the competition in the playoffs following a 2-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Ivorian side FC San Pedro.
In a Twitter interaction with fans Tuesday CK tweeted; “I feel bad, I thought we could have done enough but look at the situation now and we hope for the best.”

CK Akonnor left Kotoko barely four months after he guided them to the group stage of the Confederation Cup in the 2018/19 season.
Akonnor stepped down after Kotoko reassigned him to the technical director role and brought in Kjetil Zachariassen as head coach.
He also won the NC Special Cup tier 1 competition which qualified Kotoko to this season’s Caf Champions League.
Thus Kotoko’s African campaign began in the Caf Champions League where a first-round loss to Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia forced their demotion to the Confederation Cup.
Akonnor also replied to another fan’s question about him returning to the club, he tweeted “There is always a chance in the future for such.”

He is now the assistant coach of the senior national team, Black Stars. His appointment is an interim one but he CK tweeted that he would consider a permanent contract if he is handed one.
I guess it will be worth considering

CK Akonnor before his Black Stars appointment applied for Guinea national team job but lost out to Didier Six.
