The Headmaster of Asuom Senior High, M. Francis Koomson-Barnes, has assured Old Students, natives of Asuom, dignitaries and government functionaries who are expected to grace the occasion of the 50 years Anniversary of Asuom Senior High at Akyem Asuom on Saturday, November 30, 2019, that all is set for the smooth celebration.
According to the headmaster, the week-long activities start from November 25, and will climax with a Speech & Prizegiving Day on Saturday, November 30, 2019, with Interdenominational church service on Sunday, December 1, 2019.
The Board of Governors, Teaching and non-Teaching staff, Old Students and the Chiefs and people of Asuom, are in an expectant mood to be joined by their friends, brothers and sisters for a colourful ceremony in Asuom.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Koomson outlined programmes that would take place from 25th November to include: Inter-house football gala, Quiz, Candle light procession, Clean up exercise at Asuom Health centre, Special football matches, Inter-houses debate and other interesting programmes.
The Special Guest of honour is the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori-Panin, Okyenhene. Also expected to grace the occasion include the Minister of Education, Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng II, Asuomhene, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Nkosuohemaa of Asuom, Hon. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, Dep. Minister of Trade & Industry and MP for Tema-West and a native of Asuom, Hon. Kwabena Tenase, MP for Kade, Hon. Seth Antwi Boasiako, the Municipal Chief Executive of Kade, Monica Twumasi-Ankrah, Greater Accra Regional Director of Education, an old student, Prof. Kofi Darkwa, all Old Students of Asec and other prominent natives of Asuom. The chairman of the occasion is Akwatiahene, Osabarima Kofi Boateng III
The Vice President of Asecosa, Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO), Mark Brako- Appiah, said Asec has produced great men and women who are occupying key positions in all sectors of the country and abroad; and called on all old students, far and near, to endeavor to be part of this momentous milestone of their alma mater, the Great Asec.
