All but two aspirants who picked forms to contest the national executive elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are expected to face the Vetting Committee of the Party from Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
This follows a successful filing of nomination forms and payment of nomination fees.
Aspirants for Youth Organiser, Nasara Coordinator, Women’s Organiser and National Organiser will face the Committee on Wednesday February 12, 2014.
Those aspiring for positions of Treasurer, General Secretary, Vice Chairman and Chairman will be vetted on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
Speaking on TV3’s News @10 on Monday, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, NPP's Director of Elections, indicated that the announcement of the vetting results will be made on Friday, February 14, 2014 to formally kick-start campaigning.
The outcome of the vetting will determine the number of contestants for the 10 positions, Mr Korsah pointed out.
Among those to be vetted on Wednesday are Sammy Awuku, Charles Adu Gyamfi, Michael Kwabena Ampong, Gifty Oware and Emmanuel Attefuah-Danso, who are all vying for the Youth Organiser position.
National Chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Paul Afoko, Stephen Ntim and Fred Oware will lead the pack of those to be vetted on the second day. The four are contesting Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey.
The national executive election of the party is scheduled to be held in Tamale on April 12, 2014.
