Ghana have dropped from the 24th place to the 37th spot in the latest edition of the Fifa World Ranking, despite reaching the CHAN final.
The 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists also lost their second position in Africa to Algeria and now sit behind third-placed Cape Verde. Ivory Coast continue to reign supreme on the continent with Egypt finishing the top five teams in Africa.
Africa Cup of Nations holders Nigeria are eighth with Mali and Burkina Faso following in that order.
Spain, Germany and Argentina retained first, second and third places respectively on the global scene.
Forty friendlies including 28 games at the African Nations Championship 2014 (CHAN) in South Africa were taken into consideration.
