Global printing giant, Shanghai KS Printing, has opened an office in Accra with the target of deepening investment and expanding Ghana’s printing industry.
The Ghana office, E-Tang Group Ghana Ltd is expected to add a facelift to the indigenous printing hub in Ghana.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of E-Tang Ghana, Eric Worchie at the opening of the office said his outfit’s aim “is to run a customer-focused business and also remain a market leader in the country as well as to penetrate other neighbouring countries.”
An official with the Shanghai KS Printing, Jeff He enumerated some development phases Chinese investors are eyeing just so they penetrate and expand across the West Africa sub-region.
“The first stage is to produce high-quality printing services to local publishing companies that only produce books,” he said.
On his part, President of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Dr Nana Appiagyei Dankawoso I has urged Chinese investors to warn fellow citizens against invading market spaces legally preserved for locals.
With over 20 years of protracted agitation between the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) against foreign retailers, he said such a trend must stop starting from Chinese investors advising their compatriots who flout Ghana’s retail laws.
The establishment of the E-Tang Group Ghana Ltd comes in the wake of some acute challenges local printers in Ghana face.
The printers have complained about cost of production including high electricity tariffs.
Shanghai KS Printing Company Inc. operates as a printing services company which provides regular paper, bright paper, online copying services, and colour and black and white printing.
Shanghai KS Printing specialises in the production of market flyers and circulars.
