JoyNews investigations have uncovered how the country lost thousands of cedis after confiscated cars were auctioned cheaply by politically connected individuals.
At least in one case, the duty on a vehicle was captured to have been paid for by the Office of the President.
These vehicles are part of 151 confiscated cars that the Director of Political Affairs at the Chief of Staff Office, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, wrote to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to be allocated to selected beneficiaries.

Investigative Journalist Kwetey Nartey reports that in one instance only ¢25,000 was paid on a vehicle when the estimated duty ought to have been ¢80,000.
